It is famously known as ISCAR's "workhorse" grade because it balances massive edge toughness with high hardness, making it capable of handling standard cutting as well as heavily interrupted, unstable machining conditions

ISO P (Steels): Reliable for carbon, alloy, and tool steels under unfavorable conditions or interrupted cuts.
ISO M (Stainless Steel): Highly recommended for gummy austenitic stainless steels where work-hardening or tearing is an issue.
