5/16-18 UNC-2B Spiral Point Tap

• Thread Profile & Size: 5/16-18 UNC (Unified National Coarse). 
• Class of Fit: 2B tolerance class. 
• Tap Geometry (Form B): Features a straight-flute, spiral point configuration. The specialized spiral point shears and pushes tightly curled chips forward ahead of the tool path, keeping the flutes clean and preventing binding during through-hole operations. 
• Shank Design: Engineered to a hybrid DIN length / ANSI shank standard. This configuration gives the user an extra-long shank for deep reach while maintaining standard ANSI diameter compatibility for traditional tool holders. 
• Material Composition: Forged from premium HSS-E (Cobalt High-Speed Steel) to retain structural hardness at elevated operating temperatures. 
• Surface Treatment: Finished with Emuge's proprietary NT nitrided surface treatment. This case-hardening process dramatically increases surface abrasion resistance, lowers the coefficient of friction, and prevents micro-welding along the cutting edges.
